Sheena, Adam and I met at the Austin Renaissance Hotel to go over plans for their November 1st wedding at Vintage Villas – another one of my favority places to shoot. Afterwards, we did a mini-engagement session to get images for their Save the Date card. These were taken in the Arboretum area behind the Austin Renaissance Hotel. We then hustled down to the 360 bridge for some sunset shots. Beautiful sunset!! Also, check out the shot of the sun through the hands of Sheena and Adam shaped like a heart. Sheena’s idea – a great image! We will be doing a full engagement session in April once all the trees and flowers come out. So stay tuned for that.
I met Christina and Mikhail at a Star Ranch Golf Club Bridal Show in late January. Their wedding is March 23rd. Not a lot of time, but really not a problem. We got together last weekend, did the engagement shoot and already have our unique “Sign Yearbook Style” Guest Book Designed. I appended some of the Guest Book spreads at the end of this post so you can see what our Guest Books look like. The left hand side has album style images. The right hand side has a low opacity image where that page is designed to be written on yearbook style. These Guest Books always create a “buzz” at the wedding in addition to capturing the thoughts and best wishes of your family and guests on your Wedding Day in a way a tradtional “name, rank, serial number” Guest Book can’t.
Christina, Mikhail and I along with my son Michael who assisted me, had a wonderful engagement shoot right at the venue – Star Ranch Golf Club. This is a beautiful venue and famous for its spectacular sunsets (see below). There are beautiful grounds and lots of fun niche micro locations to shoot in. Stand by for more images of the wedding in early April.
Nicole and Kaleb were married January 5th at the Northwest Forest Conference Center in Cypress, Texas. Last year we shot Nicole and Kaleb’s engagement session there. I had the honor of being the photographer for Nicole’s sister Jennifer’s wedding a couple of years ago. So it was fun to see the Kasino family again.
One of the big hits at Jennifer’s wedding was our Photo Booth and so we did the Photo Booth for Nicole as well. It was a big hit again. See some of the images below. My son Michael ran the booth and he was on his feet most of the night. By the way, the Patrick Motola Photography Photo Booth is really a white seamless background with studio lighting setup. The result is the ability to get a lot more people in the images. We provide the props and everyone gets a printout right there at the Photo Booth. We also capture each image and put them up on the wedding website and put them on the DVD of digital files for the bride and groom.
We did not let the rain stop us from getting beautiful images. The ceremony was held in a building that is a replica of the Alamo. Kaleb definitely wanted some Alamo images and we got plenty of them with the bridal party when we had a break in the rain. It was a long day for Michael and I with the 2 1/2 hour drive to Cypress and back, but we had a blast. Both families were wonderful, Nicole and Kaleb were a pleasure to work with and it was an absolutley wonderful wedding.
It is alway an honor to be selected to capture the images for a couple’s wedding day. That honor is even greater when the Mother of the bride is an incredibly talented photographer – Amy Weison. You can see Amy’s work at www.amyweison.com. Thank you Amy! And thank you Rachel!
This wedding was also special because the groom, Ryan Heine, is the son of Ricky and Jana Heine. Ricky is the general manager at the Golf Club Star Ranch. Ricky and Assistant General Manager Samantha Fulford have been great to work with and I have photographed a number of weddings at Star Ranch.
This was a beautiful wedding as all weddings are at Star Ranch. The ceremony is performed on the hill that looks over the golf course and rolling hills into the distance. We were blessed with an incredible sunset. All this makes for capturing great images. Both the Weison’s and the Heine’s have wonderful families. That made for a wonderful wedding day which I was honored to be a part of.
The weather was perfect for this beautiful outdoor wedding at Casa Blanca on Brushy Creek. Having already had the pleasure of an Engagement Shoot at Texas A&M University with Amanda and Jared and a Bridal Shoot with Amanda just the week before this wedding, I already knew this couple well – including their families and Chihuahuas – so I knew this would be a fun wedding with great families and friends. As always, it was my honor to be a part of Amanda and Jared’s special day.
