Alie and Jason

Alie and Jason, like many couples, warned me neither were very “photogenic”.  Of course I view this as a challenge, they key of which is to get them relaxed and have some fun.  And we certainly accomplished that.  They are a wonderful couple and it shows in these engagement images.  We were also blessed with one of those evenings just before a cold front comes through where the sky is going crazy with beautiful patterns.  One of the rules I use for beautiful backgrounds is skys, pillars, doors, walls, grass.  We made use of all of these except doors on this shoot.

We started off at one of my favorite locations along Town Lake (Lady Bird Lake) right behind the Four Seasons Hotel.  Even though it was January, things are still pretty green here – and of course the water shots are spectacular.  Alie and Jason wanted some skyline shots so where better to go than the Long Center.  The green glass windows on the side of the long center are always throwing up intersting reflections and the cityscape through the pillars and arches was beautiful.  We finished on the Lamar Bridge hoping for a spectacular sunset.  We were not disappointed.

Next step is to design one of our “sign yearbook style” guest books with these images.  I know it is going to be stunning and create all sorts of buzz at the wedding.  Alie and Jason are getting married April 9th at Star Ranch Golf Club which is a wonderful venue with great management and coordinators (Samantha Fulford and Kassy Throop).  I can hardly wait…
